Alignment issue (See also: pulls to the left)
so i went to my dealership tonite to ask them about my car pulling to the left.
they test drove it and acknowledged that the car pulls to the left. after talkin to the service manager i found out that i wasnt the first person to show up with this problem. He said that a re-align would not fix the problem and that the tires were the cause. he didnt know any details about what was wrong with the tires just that it was the tires.
The hassle part of all this is that Mitsu wont replace the tires because the warranty for the tires is with yokohama(in my case). So what i now have to do is go to a tire shop that sells yokohama tires and follow a inspection/warranty replacement process.
Hope this sheds some light.
next week im getting a re-align anyways from mitsu just so that i have proof for yokohama when askin for a replacement set that it isnt the car that is causing the pull to the left.
as my situation progresses i will update if ppl r interested

I live in Canada and in the warranty manual/book its says 1st year adjustments due to something not set properly at factory or come loose, ect will be fixed within 1 year from the date in service. IE) head light adjustments clutch adj. ect.
So don't know if its only the Canadian mitsu that does this warranty coverage or not, have a look in your warranty book and let me know, curious.

Thanks,
I have a yokohama warranty pamphlet, and another tire brand pamphlet, but no Dunlop pamphlet...
When I looked through my documentation, I just figured they threw all the common tires on new Mitsu's into the warranty packaging for all Lancers... Unfortunately, there's no Dunlop pamphlet.

hmmm...
definitly gonna call the dealer on this one.
Isn't the EVO comin with Yokohama's?
maybe they were GONNA put yoko's but then decided to save em for the evo and never changed the pamphlets lol?...just a thought
I'll call my dealer today and see whats up.

As I recall, a Dunlop pamphlet showed up in my mailbox one day. I suspect
didn't have them on hand at first or something.
cheilo - complain to the dealership owner. The service manager has admitted that your car has faulty tires. Get the dealership to buy you a new set of different tires. Complain until you get fair treatment!

It will, no doubt. That's why I sold my GTS stuff and bought new wheels/tires. My steering isn't perfect (still need the camber bolts), but it got a lot better at that point. I think the combo of bad tires and no camber adjustment is really killing the Lancer.
I complained about this to my dealership a few weeks back, they instantly told me they would do an alignment on my GTS...obviously they know this is a problem. Well its the winter and I have my winter tires on so he does the alignment anyways when I brought the car in for various warrenty issues. When I go to pick up the car he's already trying to cover his end by clamning "I did the best I could with the winter tires on" saying it might not correct the problem.
So I take the car from the dealership, jump on the highway and instantly notice it's still the same. I can sit in the slow lane on the highway and the car will just pull instantly to the left...FROM THE RIGHT LANE. I call him a week later about this and some other crap and he's still saying the same stuff about my winter tires. He now claims he shouldn't of done anything to the car in the first place with winter tires on because it's not covered under warrenty, granted he's right in a way but if that was the case then he wouldn't of done it and wouldn't of come out right away with the suggestion of performing an alignment when I went into the dealership with the complaint. His reasoning was that I down sized in wheel and could cause a problem (215/65/16 winter tire), I asked him to give me an explanation why this could cause a problem and I got nothing from him...I could see if the suspension was lowered or damaged but how could my tires be the issue if I had the oem wheels on it it was still doing the same thing?
I've spent two days argue with this guy about my car (various issues), so he said to bring the car back with the oem wheels and rims on to do a re-alignment...fine. I will be without my car once again because of these issues, but I already warned him that if I get the car back and its still the same were going to have a big issue. I paid and went through the hassle of having to get my winter tires removed for this guy and if its still the same Im going to present him with the bill for removing and putting my winter tires back on.
Monday I plan on giving Mitsubishi Canada a call and complain about this dealership, and for the most part about this service managers department, his lack of responsiblity and attitude. So many other issues have just put me over the top and Im really hoping head office is willing to do something about this.

Man mitsu is REALLY trying to side-step this problem!!!
Well i went in to talk to the dealership manager about not having a dunlop warranty. He ended up checking all the GTS's on the lot and found the same problem. I'm going in Wed. for my alignment and they said they will have all my warrenty pamphlets/papers ready for me then.
I mentioned that it should be Mitsu going through the hassel of getting the warrenty granted and new tires put on but he said that because mitsu no longer owns the vehicle they cannot go through the warrenty process for me and that i have to go to a Dunlop retailer. Anyone know if this is true or BS??
If i have ANY problems with getting my warrenty fulfilled i'm gonna try to get the dealership to replace my tires and if they give me a hassel i guess i gotta try callin mitsu headquarters and bi**h at them.
For claiming to have the best backed cars in the world IIIII sure am doing a lot of work to get this problem fixed

Exactly the words I used to my service manager on friday...I told them it's a joke that Mitsubishi would actually claim something like this. Im looking forward to take my lunch break tommorow and calling Mitsubishi headquarters and just going on a full out rant about this issues and the horrible serivce I've experienced with my dealership. I know its easy to just move on to another dealership but that's exactly what they want...they wanna clean their hands of me because they know Im not happy with the problems and their service, but I won't step down to them.
Im glad somebody brought up the dunlop warrenty pamphlet not being given out, I can't believe I didn't notice this when I took delivery of the car, but I plan on mentioning this to them tommorow as well.
I really hope alot more people are putting pressure on Mitsubishi headquarters over this issue.
