GTS 666 - the bottom line is that you have to call the dealership on the real problem. He can give you 87 alignments and the car is going to still be misaligned.

There are 3 settings that affect alignment; camber, caster and toe. There are two ends to the car; front and rear. That's six settings in total. In stock trim, only 3 of the 6 settings are "alignable." So they can put the car on the rack and tinker around, but your camber (front and rear) and front caster are still going to be the same as when you drove in. Doesn't matter what wheels are on the car. It's a matter of settings.

This is something Im going to throw in the service managers face...he firmly believes the snow tires could be the problem. Im just going to shut my mouth right now and do exactly what he wanted me to do, which was to put on the oem wheels and bring it in for an alighnment, but as soon as that car leaves the dealership and has the same problem Im going to tell him exactly what your saying.

Of course he believes that snowtire BS. He'll throw out any lie he can as long as it involves one key item - "not our fault."

I'm not saying he's a lying bastard, but the average service manager is pretty much trained to say "it's not our fault."

blacksheep you are absolutly right.
But i do see where GTS 666 is coming from...im takin the same approach with my dealership. go through their process first and when things r still messed up they wont have anymore excuses.

hopefully that works lol.

Yeah, I totally agree that it helps to work with them. But I also know that you're fighting an uphill battle.

Just keep thinking "THIS! IS! SPARTA!" while the guy's talking...

dropped off my car today at the dealership with my oem rims on as requested...now I expect to get my car back the sameway as it went in just because they're hard headed and don't believe it could be a bigger issue.


Today I just ripped into them at the dealership...I've already told them I won't go away like they want me to. I made the mistake of telling them this the other day and they seemed happy about this. lol

hey guys I saw that you have a alignment spec sheet for non - adjustable cambers but do you have any for adjustable spec sheets?...my car always pulls to the right and always balds my back tires and I wanna be able to get a alignment spec sheet for adjustable cambers to give to my mechanic?

well i went for the alignment last week and still pulls to the left.
the next step is that i am going to a goodyear(Dunlop) retailer to have my tires tested. at that point they will either replace the faulty tires no charge or partially cover the charge. this is based on different factors. i have the appointment on thursday.. alls i know is if they tell me its not fully covered mitsu is reaching into their pockets for this.
this is getting increasingly frustrating....hoping i catch a break with the guys at goodyear retailer.

You're posting in the 2008 Lancer forum. It's WAY different than your car.
I did PM you the 2003 Evo specs you asked for, though.

I've already posted it somewhere else here, but again:

Here's my case:

I went to the dealer for the 1000 miles oil change and told them about pulling to the left.
They rotated the wheels and car was pulling to the right on the test drive, service manager was driving. I told him that I'm not satisfied with the fix.
We went back to the office and he ordered a set of Pirelli P Zero's for me without any more questions asked.
I'm waiting for them to come to the dealer and have them mounted for free as well.
We'll see from that point if it did any good.

I just recieved a phone call that the tires are in.
I'll get them mounted on Friday morning.
Hopefuly pulling will go away.

If not, might be time for camber bolts. Best I can tell, it's either the tires or camber (or both).

ok heres the update
i went to my appointment with Goodyear today. original test drive, car pulled to the left (nothing new) they swithed my 2 front tires (left front to right front and vice versa) the guy test drove it came back and asked me to go test drive i did and the damn car drove straight as an arrow
He is gonna be in contact with Dunlop and try and get me a new pair n e ways.

Any ideas as to why when the tires were flipped the car didnt pull in the opposite direction?

Another update on Dunlop's decision within a week.
