dumb question...

okay, i had new rims, tires, and RRM springs installed on my car a few months ago. Sadly, I havent gone to get an alignment (I know I need one, because its been pulling to the right). However, when i am driving and then have to come to a stop, my steering wheel will start shaking and rumbling after hitting the brakes. It does get more violent at higher speeds, but its not unbearable. Anyone know if the alignment will fix this issue, or is this being caused by something else?

Thanks

I might, or it might not. Your new rims could have lost a weight or something. Start by getting the alignment, then if it conitnues go to the place where you had your rims/tires put on.

Good luck

First off, get an alignment (and some camber bolts so they can actually align the front).

Second, think about the brakes. You described the classic "warped brakes" symptom. Does it ONLY happen when you hit the brakes? Could be that you overheated a rotor. If that's the problem, it won't really clear up until you get new rotors/pads. But getting the rotors resurfaced could help if it is the problem.

yup... what Black said. If you're feeling the vibration ONLY when you hit the brakes then you most likely have warped rotors. The cheap way out of that is to have the rotors turned, but if they're warped too much you'll have to get new ones.

if you got the rotors too hot they might not be able to machine them due to hard spots.

But definitely sounds like warped brakes for the pulsing, shaking wheel. You only changed springs, so the slight pull to the right would be for that. So alignment first, then see what happens.

Get pads too then. If the rotors are bad, the pads are probably bad too.
