wtf...ok my lancer is makin alot of noises underneath my hood....i know its not my engine...i jus installed a AEM CAI...and everything i install it 2 a CAI it makes this wierd noise....like a tube rubbin against somethin....i check all around my engine bay...but i cant figure out wats up....please help....thx

 

I heard one of the brackets that you bolt that intake up with brakes easily. It's because theres not much flex in the couplings and mounts, so if its not broke it may just be it trying to flex

 

My AC compressor makes a lot of noise. THey said it was normal though. that might be the sound you are hearing.

 

yeah my ac (really the radiator fans) makes a ton of noise. sounds like a big kenworth diesel radiator fan... it makes me feel silly when im parked somewhewre and my car is just like WHOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!!!!!!!! really annoying.

 

It actually sounds like nocking rockers in an old ford. It is horrible. My fans are loud also, but I kind of like that. the AC sounds like ball bearings rattling around inside of it.

 

A/C comp is very noisey on my car, but has been like that since I hit 10,000 miles. Now I'm up to about 45,000 and it still works fine and sounds the same.

 

stupid question - did you make sure to reset your ecu after installing the cai? could be bad idle causing something to hit.

Check the black metal bracket that the stock intake box was conencted to. Did you remove it?

Check the MAS adapter, it could be smacking against something.

Check all bolts/clamps.

 

I hate the sound the Fan makes when the AC runs....horrible.i used to have a 1992 corolla with 155,000 miles....never sounded that bad....actually no fan......

 

when i start my car in the morning when its still cold, i get this tapping/clicking noise coming from the intake manifold by the throttle body..its really sound like its coming from that gold round thing on top of the throttle body. and from inside the cabin, the gas pedal clicks too until i hold ir down a little then it stops, the dealer says its my racing pedals but that thing is on securely, it sound like its coming from where is links to the firewall...can anyone help me out here?

 

The tapping when cold is normal and has been discussed several times. Mitsu seems to have a habit for noisy tappets. As for the pedal, check your throttle. Best suggestion off the top of my head.

 

Dude, try unplugging your fans and turn on your ac. then try to find where the noise is comming from. i have the same prob and mine is comming from my tranny..
