Code P0421- Call Mitsu before you do anything!

I called my nearest dealership today and for those who dont know, if your check engine light is on and its showing fault code P0421 this may be from a factory recall on the warm-up converter and a PCM reflash. MILEAGE OF THE CAR DOES NOT EFFECT THIS RECALL. Anyone whos had problem with a dealership not doing the repairs because of mileage needs to contact another dealer or the owner of the dealership. This is what the service manager told me today so though I'd share. Getting mine fixed tomorrow at 10am, I cant wait.

For more information about this code Google "Fault Code P0421" You'll get tons of information

I was posting this more for someone passing thru looking for why there cel is on. Theres lots more info here about the problem but no thread that clearly says call mitsubishi from the start. I just figure if someone pasing thru sees this it is more of an eye catcher then they sign up and we have another lancer on board!

If the service engine light is on you will probably fail inspection.

I just took my 03 oz to my local dealer. It has 105k on it and they did the pcm reflash and fan control recalls under the recall program, for free. I took mine to Dave Sarmadi in Salem, VA to do my recall work. They where very friendly. I'll be taking my 04 es down next week to get the pcm reflash on it too.

Usually mileage is important, maybe he just didn't check or didn't know it was important? You can't bring a 10 yr old car with 300K on it to a recall, noone will take it.
