Help! My Engine wont start?!?

I recently installed a sub into my Lancer.

The first time I tried to run the power wire from the battery to the sub I had this porblem...my engine wouldnt start except when my headlights were turned on.

I thought this was wierd, but after I removed the power wire from the battery the car worked fine again. A few days later I tried to hhook up the sub again - this time I had no problem at all.

Its been over three weeks now, today I was doing a routine cleaning of my entire car and I was dusting off some things in my engine with a dry rag. I went to pull m7my car into the garage and again the same thing happened...it wouldnt start excpet when the lights were on.

I tried removing the powerr wire from the battery, but this time It didnt work! What IS WRONG WITH IT? I was thinking that perhaps it had to do with the fact that my doors were open for well over an hour and a half while I was detailing my car today.

Would this cause that problem, and if not, what would and how do I go about fixing it??

Sorry, the only answer I have is to take everything out, Bring it to the dealer, tell them the problem but don't mention the amp or sub. Use that warrentey like its goin out of style. you can try to remove the battery itself for 2 minutes to reset the computer.

Its definetly the fuse... I pinpointed the problem, but I don't think it had anything to do with hooking my sub to the battery, which is wierd. If that caused it I can't explain it.

The fuse thats acting crazy is the fuse for my ignition. It's not blown though, whats happening is its not fitting into the slot tight enough and you have to have a second person physically move it around under the hood while I turn the key on to start the engine, or else it wont work.

doesn't seem to be the fuse itself, but more like the problem with the slot in the fuse box. Looks like it's something I'll have to have my mitsu. dealer check out.

If anybody has any ides on this one, I'm all ears.

also, I've never been to the dealer for a problem before, any tips?

I just talked to a guy I know about it, and he seems to think thatthe problem could be with my alarm system.

it has an ignition kill and he thinks that when I hooked the sub to the battery it messed with that somehow.

I'm gonna try and disable the alarm all together by unhooking it and seeing if that fixes the problem.

what baffles me is why on earth messing with the fuse would allow me to start it up though?

any ideas?

You never said you have an alarm. Is it a factory alarm, if so it probably has alot to do with it from tinkering with the radio.

nope, it wasnt a factory alarm. But that was indeed the problem - once I unhooked the alarm from my car, the engine started up no problem.

now I just need to get the alarm working again.

Thanks for all the help though guys
