I finally got that new adaptor and threw it in, but it was still running funny.
I tried some different things, but still no difference. Finally, i put in the piece that held the honeycomb in place, and it runs like it should!!
Thanks for the help! ill post more pics of the final result later...

Its the piece with the lip on top.
I dont know the exact importance of it, but it fixed it.
It looks like it reduces air flow though, and i notice a loss in horsepower.

you can buy throttle body cleaner !! use it right away or else don't use that intake. PVC piping = dirty.
electrical tape = dirty.
I would insist on using couplers and with your set-up....please going back to stock wont do any harm and doesn't take a lot of effort....
you'll know the hp increase

well looks like it holds up a lot better than electrical tape. Your intake "set-up" is not any different on how a short-ram intake is suppose to work, but we were just talking about the parts you used. I think your intake should hold up and shouldn't be faulty but the reason why we stress on using actual intake materials/parts is sooo you won't end up having problems later and a real intake kit is like a cost-free worry....well most are.

Thanks for the advice... maybe sooner or later i'll buy an actual kit, but if this holds up for now i'm going to stick with it.
i know what you mean though, if its an actual kit, i know it will hold up...

So why are you even still using the stock intake pipe? If I made my own sri I would have replaced the stock pipe and just move the maf forward. Then attach the filter directly to the maf sensor.

And also i forgot to mention if it doesn't rain a lot. I would make the pipe longer into putting it in front of the engine down lower beside the front bumper so it'll kinda be pulling in colder air, but thats just me. No problem for the advice...love helping other people out.
