depending on how you do it. see how they did theirs and in the empty spot goes your MAF. You could customize and have it be pulling in denser air.

You see that black rubber thing that connects your throttle body to the maf? That's the intake pipe/tube. You use a maf adapter plate, like you have, and connect that to the filter. If I was going to try and make my own I would have actually made the whole pipe instead of just lengthing it...

that looks pretty expensive... im not gonna lie.
i see what you mean about bringing in more cold air (hot air rises, cold air sinks) but will it cut horsepower, or actually improve it?

can i get a link to that intake? or something like it...

That is how my intake is currently set up. Its basically just a filter attached to the MAF as the extra PVC piping is pretty much pointless.

yeah the denser air going into the engine will help in hp increase. Our engines love the cold air. I can so tell the difference with the intercooler now and why people love turbo lol. Helping the engine to breathe better is always better.

i would go for it. It would still work. And i would also try the throttle body bypass mod too.

Yeah, maybe... my friend told me that the intakes that go down into the bumper have a high risk of hydrolocking... is that true?
also, i notice quite a difference in my gas mileage. Im getting about 50 miles to the tank more than before. would it change if i get one of those intakes?

If it rains tooo much than yes hydrolocking will occur and thats how my bro flooded his teg gsr.

But your lancer should be equipped with splash guards and your intake filter should sit right on top of it and inside it to prevent any water sucking in.

This is where my CAI is:

I have the splash guards on underneath but it stays open like that in the front all the time and i have had it on for a while now and its gone through the winter and even this summer in our area it hasn't stopped raining and I have had no problems.

As for your fuel mileage, no it is not going to change it, it might actually improve it some more...i have been getting roughly 650-700km(which is about 400-430miles) to a tank and 75% is all city driving
