Leaking Tranny Fluid!!!

Looked under my car today and there was a small puddle of fluid underneath. Looks like its dripping from where the transmission meets the block... Wondering if anyone has had this problem before? I dont think there is a gasket in there right or is there? thanks in advance!!!

Well, you do have 2 seals there, I assume its a automatic?

Got a seal for the block, then the trans, also the torque converter.

Best bet is it get it in the air and check it out, prolly could just be a trans line.

Like a small drip. After a week of sitting there was a thin puddle about the size of a legal size envelope... And a small drop coming right out the joint between the block and tranny.

The only way I can think of to find out why it is dripping is to take the transmission off and get a good look inside. Has your trans fluid been changed recently?

Is it trans fluid or oil? That will determine if its the input shaft seal or the rear main seal.

Well if you can't tell the difference between the two then the alternative would be to remove the flywheel inspection plate and see if the fluid is flowing down from inside the bell housing or between the flywheel and block.

Go smell some gear oil out of the bottle and you will have no problem identifying it in the future! In fact you'll learn to hate that smell almost instantly. Engine oil smells like oil, gear oil smells like shat.
