Big Clunking prob after drop

So I bought a set of megan coilovers about a year ago. No probs for about a month. Then from out of nowhere, I started hearing this nasty clunking coming from the front end of the vehicle. I cant figure out where its coming from. It only happens sometimes when I go around corners at low speeds or if I go over uneven ground such as a gravel driveway. The mechanics around here wont touch my car to even look at it because they say Im driving a car that is illegal for them to work on. I cant find anyone and I guess that doesnt matter because I like to do the work myself but cant figure this out. Everything under the car seems to be tight. My suspension mods include a front strut bar and a lower h brace. I could see where the sound would be coming from if it were lowering springs but these are strut and spring matched coilovers. It sounds like its coming from under the car, not the wheel well. Any suggestions?

Where the dampening adjustment knob is on the front coilovers, theres a nut under that knob. Make sure theyre tightened with a wrench. That should solve your problem. You don't even have to get dirty. Also, you might have to take out the adjustment knob to get to it. Just unscrew it out with your fingers.

So that did not do a thing. The bolts at the top were on tight. Put an allen wrench in where the damping screw was and tried to tighten down that nut. No go. I will be putting my stock wheels back on soon and will have my car up in the air so I will further post the results when and if I find them cause I cant find a single other complaint on this forum like mine. Prob not looking in the right spots and you guys will find some way to find something but if not, Ill at least post what I find for the next person. So also, any suggestions as to what it could be? Lancerlover had a great one thank you very much. But the sound seems to be coming from the bottom of the engine bay, not the top. Ive been pretty hard on the car but nothing FEELS broken. General rule is that I can take the corner at double speed plus 10. Not so good for my car I know. Anyways, Ive received a barrage of tickets in the last month so I am cruise controlling it everywhere I go and saving the speed for the track. Just want to figure out what this clunking is and if its a bad thing before my car becomes a barrel rolling ball of flame when my suspension snaps to pieces and flings me off a cliff.

I had this noise on some springs I had on my Mirage. It started the min I had them put on. Your better off just putting stock ones back on. Your garages suck up there. I can't believe they won't work on it.

When you have it up, stick your fingers up into the bottom of the shock and make sure there's no oil leaking from the damper itself, it could be a blown strut. They make a clunking noise like that when they're starting to go south.

I had the same problem. I had to change the control arms because the ball joint went bad. Try checking your ball joint

So I raised the car, and after unsuccessfully lowering the coils since I put smaller wheels on my vehicle, Ive determined what the clunking is. A bad rear mount for the motor and bad bushings. I did some research on the bushings and since they dont make polyurethane bushing sets for our cars, we have to put stock ones on. The stock ones will wear out at an incredible rate when aggressively lowered. So Ive decided to undertake a project to create my own urethane bushings as I have found a couple of websites that explain how to do motor mounts and other bushings such as control arm bushings simply by making a mold out of paper mache and filling it with urethane. Sounds simple and we'll hope it works. Wish me luck.
