Engine Weirdness
Semi tough situation to describe: While braking, has anyone experienced: Engine RPM's "sticking" around the 1200 - 1000 mark; and then, when almost at a complete stop, RPM's drop so low (~500) the car sputters a little bit. Shortly thereafter, the car returns to normal idle speed (~750ish). Then, if I take my foot off of the brake, instead of smoothly idling forward, it's jerky and hesitant.
There are about a million things that could cause that, but it's cold out and I'm lazy. Anybody run into anything similar? What was done to resolve it?
The problem has been ongoing...one day it just started happening and happens irregardless of temperature (no real mods to the car, either).

I think I felt that too on my 08 CVT GTS.
At a stop, I would let go of the brake and have the auto creep forward without pressing on the gas. I would feel the car bog, sorta like a knock. Like it feels like it's accelerating a little, then not, then accelerate, then not, and so on.
I never brought it in to the dealer to get it checked out cause I didn't know how to explain it to them.
Didn't happen all the time though. Just randomly.

Its just the computer maintaining some parameters in the engine. Happens in my car all the time, especially when coming to a quick stop, hit the clutch and the rpms kinda just hang then fall. I think ive seen it get down to almost ~250 one time then just readjusts and maintains ~750 for an idle. I'm not really concerned about it since it has been doing it over the entire life of the car.

I've had the same problem as jRox, apparently it is the ecu trying to calculate and run the car at best fuel efficiency. When it see the rpm high, it will try to reduce it but when it drops too low then it increases rpm to keep the same vehicle speed. My driving habits are aggressive but when installed the SRI I had to reset the ECU and the "bogging" would disappear. However, have the ECU has learned my driving habits again it will start to bog at low speed i mean like 5-10km when you are stuck in traffic.
Does it happen shortly after starting the car up for the first time of the day? It does that to me when I put it reverse right after being started sometimes. I've never noticed it while stopping and going though.

No, it happens throughout the day. If you let your car warm up a bit more, it might solve your reverse problem, though.
