I really hope this doesnt sound rude, but it really sounds like the only way to get really good mileage is with a stick. If you really want to try though, go through the seafoam treatment, the one where you suck it into your intake. It helped my car in a big way. Then if you really care, go for the strainer, gas treatment, tuneup, etc. Im sure you could pull a couple more MPGs outta it.

380-420 miles per tank on a 5-speed. That's with nothing but a short ram intake and cat-back exhaust. The key is to keep your car tuned up. I use NGK standard plugs gapped slightly over spec (.060 or so) and change them yearly. 42 psi in all tires, synthetic gear oil in the trans. I definitely don't drive in such a way as to intentionally save gas, but I don't try to waste it either.

Also if your check engine light (SES light) is on, even for something stupid like a P0420 code because your exhaust doesn't have cats, it puts the car into a fail-safe fuel map that's very wasteful. If that light is on your gas mileage will never be great even if the code is nothing engine related.

I got 375 miles to a fuel tank. I think I had 1 gallon left. The low fuel light didn't come on when I stopped to get gas. It was almost all highway, with me getting on it some, and my friend drove it also. He was new to 5 speed.

How many gallons are you guys putting in your cars when you refuel? I don't think I have ever seen close to 400 miles per tank. I get close to 300 per tank now with a turbo charged auto, and the most I've been able to refuel has been like 11.2 gallons...
