headlight keeps burning out
so here's my dilema:
this is the second time my driver-side low beam has burned out with aftermarket bulbs. the first set were farenheit xenon blue, and though they were the higher wattage, nothing seemed to fry or anything, and the high beam still worked fine. i got about 4 months out of the one. i replaced them with the correct wattage eurolite xenon super plasma, and again, 4 months, high beam is fine.
what's going on? could it be a bad fuse or something like that? has anyone else had this problem, or any thoughts on the matter?

Same issue here with Nokia bulbs. About 3 months and pop. Highs still work fine. Got fed up and said screw it. I've decided I don't need the fake HID look anymore.
Seriously though, most aftermarket bulbs suck, that's why they only cost 20 bucks or so. I'm sticking with stock until I burn those out. 18 months and counting.

did you make sure you didn't touch the glass of the bulb before installing it? if you did touch it, the oils from your hand will heat up more than the glass and that makes them break. if that's not the problem, i'd guess it's just the bulbs your buying are crap. try the BI Hybrid lights, they're quality.

i know its not a hand oil issue, because i didn't loose my high beams either time. must be a quality issue. still, i don't want to drop 50+ bucks for catz or piaa bulbs, and now that someone said they had the same prob with nokya, they are off my list. of course, doing the math, i could buy 3 sets of 20 dollar bulbs a year, or one set of 60.
any other ideas or recommendations?

man i have the same problem. i think its because its a cheap wannabe light bulb, they look bad ***, but theyre not REAL HID. i just bought the PIAA platinum bulbs and they havent gone out in 7 monthes, still counting.
get some real HID's and problem solved!

anywa, make sure those ebay bulbs draw 55/65w...just to play safe..
I've used Koba, and Hiper ($10/pair from eBay) and they seem to work fine.

if you can, try the xenon-whites (hyper white) by street glow. or if you can, try to get your hands on bluezone, made by seltek (these come out purple/blue... really nice). my buddy's and I use both, and have never had a problem with either one. 2 brands that always give us problems are nokia's and cuzo's they burn out fast as hell.
it sounds to me like maybe a short in the wire. turn on your lights with the bulb out and put a voltameter to the blown beam. then shake the wiring harness, maybe the wire sheathing is stripped off somewhere and touching the car body.
btw, is it both light? if it is both I would say the proble would be located before the wires split to each light.
hope this helps you out.
