Starter probs at 35000???

so i go to start it up... i hear the starter just kinda go but not do anything... did it twice, then it started...curious if anyone else experienced this? anywho... oh, on another note if anyone has changed fluids(i.e. power steering, brake and tranny) what did ya use and how difficult was the task.

did it hum but not start up, if so the solenoid might be bad

nah, no hum... it cranked, but the sound was a grinding...

Before I get ridiculed for this I know its not a chevy, But Chevys do something similiar if the starter gets too hot, dont know, maybe you did some damage to the flywheel.

When the starter cranks, does it sound weak and whiny, or is it cranking normally? If it's cranking fine, it's probably not the starter.

I noticed this problem too, and I have 27,000. I have auto start, and I remember starting it, but the car didn't start until the 2nd retry. *shrug*

not a battery issue... everything was fine...cept it cranked but did not start

Could've been something as simple as not having the clutch pedal fully down while trying to turn over/start.
