Question a question to ppl who installed AEM CAI

hi,

i recently (finally) installed by AEM cai, for my lancer ES (M/T).

i was folling the provided instructions along side with Sten's instructions.

installing it was a breeze and i can feel the increase over the short ram i had.

however i got one bothersome problem. remember the hole where we were supposed to put the rubber bolt on? the area where the secondary pipe (below) is attached to the car itself to keep it stable.

on the picture there seemed to have been nothing, but when i was installing mine, there was a little block with wiring on it that was already using the hole to stick the rubberbolt in. i dunno if this is the powersteering unit or not, but it seemed important because the harness/wiring was connected to the left headlight wires.

did u guys have this too? maybe its just a canadian car thing, or just a 2003 lancer thing, but i wasn't sure where to mount this, so i removed it, stuck in the rubberbolt (stabilizer thing) and stuck it over it. maybe i should remove it and put it in deeper, cuz water might hit it, but i wasn't sure.

plz let me know if uhad this same problem.

my 2002 OZ didn't have anything like that, install was a breeze. i think it might be an 2003 thing and not a canadian thing cuz Japan makes them and ships them all over the world. unless them canadians did some modifications on their own??

I helped Joe put his CAI In and we didnt find anything like that. The Canadian OZ has Daytime Running lights so I think maybe that has to do with it.

You dont have to remove your bumper, all you need to do is remove the plastic sheilds under the bumper. (the job shouldnt take more then a 1/2 h) you can get to it fine then.
