High-pitch Side window noises&&rattling on snow
Hi,
I am an owner of 2009 Lancer GTS M/T.
I bought my car on 2009 June, and everything works great except very few problems.
Problem#1
My side windows.... make high-pitch noises when I pull it down or up. All 4 of them.
Especially after raining or snowing. It also seems to make verticle scratches to the window which is one of the common known problems in the lancer, but I did not able to find anyone arguing with extreme terrible noise the side windows make when it goes up or down.
It does not always happen, but most likely after raining or snowing.
What I am guessing is that, the rubber at the bottom of the side windows is tightening the windows too much..
I was wondering if moleskin would fix this problem..

Beforehand, do you think if I bring the car to the dealer ship, they will take care of it under warranty??
I guess I can buy the moleskin and do the job, but I just want to make sure..and if dealership does everything for me that would be nice for me.
Problem#2
My car, when I turn left or right on snow very slowly(5~10mile/h) it rattles so much,(i mean,..seriously..) especially the front half part of the vehicle. I personally think its either a problem within the suspension, or my stock tires, which are only 6k miles old. This rattling does not happen when there is no snow at all. It is easier to think my car won't turn left or right smooth on snow when it goes slow... It goes straight fine on snow, but kinda slippery.
Are above two problems quite rare? Because of these problems, when I am in my car with other friends, I am afriad to pull down the window due to the noise, or drive above snow and turn due to the rattling.
By the way.. my car is stock.

The window problem sounds like the tracks could use some grease. In wet weather there is a lot more humidity which could cause the squealing.
As for the shuddering in the snow, I have never noticed anything like that, but my guess would be if you have traction control it has something to do with that.

Is it possible that the shuddering in the snow happens due to the problem with anti sway bar OR tires??
I am using stock tires but I am thinking of replacing them.
With the shuddering in the snow, the only thing I can think of would be the tires loosing grip while turning giving you some tire hop potentially. If this does happen on dry or wet roads I wouldn't worry too much. I believe it is a traction problem causing this.
As for the windows, the dealer should fix this by installing new window track or something of the sort, that doesn't seem normal at all. Every dealership is different, give them a call and see what they suggest, also try calling a few dealerships
