Serious electrical problems
in the underhood fuse box pop it open and you'll see a yellow cap with 2 fuses in it , pull up on it but dont try and force it outta the box , grab a small screwdriver and pry the 2 lil clips out while pulling it up theres 2 fuses in there one is for the radio , I bet its blown ....keep in mind this fuse also supplies power to the dome light and the high beam indicator on the dash along with fuse #18 in the underhood box
also whether the alarm is good or not the install is questionable especially if the previous owner installed it, find the fuse for it and take it out ....
I doubt its the etacs ecu , the fuse would go 1st
Ive worked on hundreds of them and never seen a wiring issue that wasnt owner inflicted ..lol

How do I remove the yellow cap..?
I didn't want to just yank it.. and I see the fuses are clipped in but had trouble with that...
Possible dome light container short
My wife has a 2002 Lancer LS when all of a sudden the radio, dome light, remote, power locks (w igintion off), trunk light and lic plate bulbs would not work. Found that the dome light fuse in the engine compartment fuse box was blown. Replaced the fuse and in a short time it would blow again, sometimes right away and sometimes in a day or two. Took out the radio and the fuse still blew. I took off the dome light (just pop off the lens with a straight blade screwdriver at the little tab and then take out the two Phillips screws) and I noticed that one of the metal contact plates of the dome light bulb container was actually going through some foam padding and shorting to the metal roof of the car. My wife has a sunroof so I don’t know if this was original padding or added when the sunroof was installed. I over laid three strips of electrical tape on the roof to isolate the metal contact. Worked the slide switch on the dome light many times and fuse is no longer blowing. Hope this helps someone down the road.
Hate to revive a dead thread, however
I'm having the same problems, and I need to fix it ASAP. I can't check to see which little yellow cover you guys are referring to, and I have an '06, but from this diagram (from an '02, but I think they're the same), which fuse #s did you replace? I'm having the EXACT same problems/issues

I've looked so many times. Anyone could post a picture of where to look for it please.
