Exclamation Hands free passcode reset trouble

I just bought this 2008 Lancer gts, when I hit the hands free voice activation it said it was locked and to say the four digit pass code... The former owner knows it but I don't and since I bought it from a dealership I do not know who the former owner is. So I would like to know how to reset the passcode
I tried the hold the hang up button for 2 seconds three times and that did not work. the dealership tried the same thing and told me I would have to leave it with them, if I could avoid this that would be great.
Any solutions out there?

I thought I remembered seeing a service bulletin about this issue, but I cannot locate it. The dealership should be able to help you with it. Just ask them to look for any bulletins or manual revisions.

Apparently the hands free module has to be replaced, you would think there would be an easier way.

There has to at least be an option from the dealer. I do remember seeing some TSB about this. Did you call the dealer? Did they say you had to replace the module? If so I would call a few other dealers, even if it involves some long distance calls... Not all dealers are up to date on their knowledge of all TSB's
