ECU question.
My car all of a sudden shut off ttoday. Found vehicle had no spark for cylinder 2 and 3 coil. Checked both coils by swapping.Found both coils worked when using connector for cylinder 1 and 4 . checked the voltage output to coils. Found when attempting to start, found very low voltage compared to connection at other coil for trigger. Trigger voltage at 1 & 4 coil at 6.3 volts and .78 mV on coil 2 & 3 trigger. Tested connection from ECU to coil for trigger. Found 0.02 ohms. Im looking at needing a new ECU. So i got three questions. One: Is this a fair diagnosis of the problem? Second: the vehicle looks to not have an immobilizer ring, so can i order a reman or used ECU as long as it has the proper ECU code? Code: MR578519 Third: Is there any special coding/VIN writing that is needed if installing a reman or used ECU?

As far as the diagnosis goes I don't know at all man.
Yes you can get a used or reman ecu.
No immobilizer on the 02 Lancer, and the rom code ("ecu code") doesn't matter as long as it's out of a comp. Lancer.
Now if you want to flash the ecu down the road then you should find a rom code that has a definition file written for it.
But I don't guess that's a issue here.
