I had the same problem. the i brought it to my mechanic and he had the same problem. so much for ease of installation. I ended up bringing it to my dealer and let them put it on for 40 dollars. they said it takes some "finessing" which means banging with a rubber mallet til it fits. you will feel a world of difference with it. great mod. Also, make sure you re-route your hoses for the winshield washer nozzles cuz where they are now they will get crimped and not work. that's where i am, i gotta buy new hoses and re run the whole thing. good luck, hope you enjoy

Try loosening all strut bolts, see if it fit on. Use a mallet! If not like B said jack up one side of the car so that strut bolts fall out of holes a little bit. That should do it. Then push it back through and tighten all the bolts.

B was right. I bought this for my Lancer when I first bought it. The easiest way to put the RMR bar on is to jack up the car. Installation is even easier if both sides of the front of the car are up. The bar does need correct positioning, but it should fit perfectly.

try slamming the ebrake in the drive way right then put a floor jack (not the stock jack) under the front tow hook (little black loopy thing under front bumper in the middle) jack the car up and both sides will lift at the same time this way you can center it and it will be a breeze to install

I just got mine this evening. I went out, took the stock jack out of the trunk, jacked up the front, used my jackstands to hold her up and then looked for the socket that would fit. hint: 14mm.
Off come the nuts, on goes the bar (NO finesse needed) and back go the nuts. How tight? How do I know, I just went until it stopped finger tight and then turned about 1/16 turn with the ratchet.
I went for a test with my wife... spectacular difference.
ROCK you guys at RRM

Took me about 15 minutes to do it. All you got to do is fit one end of the bar over the bolts. loosely tighten the nuts on that side. Jack up the other site until the bolts lower enough for the other side to fit over the bolts. Lower the car and tighten the bolts to 50lbs torque. Don't forget to rearrange the windshield fluid tubing or the will be pinched by the bar.
