I managed to get rid of the CEL. Installed the IM I got from the junkyard, retained the MAP sensor, hoses, valves excluding the EGR, which I bought new previously. Of course before installing I did another thorough cleaning. I hope it stays away! So far so good

Relevent Info
So I wound up with the dreaded P0401 myself. I cleaned the EGR valve, replaced the solenoid (and tested it with a 12v source, it's good), replaced any cracked hoses, checked the metal lines, throttle body, and even bought a new emission vacuum control valve, nothing worked.
I decided to give one last check of the remaining hoses, and in one of the small hoses going into the vacuum control valve I found a restriction. Replaced the hose and cut the factory one open, since it felt like a pebble or something was in there.
Come to find out, it was a small type of restrictor valve that was restricting vacuum flow from the control valve to the rest of the system. Cleared the code and been code free for a few weeks now.
