P0335 and P0340 - Car Runs Fine
Hey EvoM-
I haven't been on here much since selling my Evo, but my little daily has been giving me hell lately, and currently has me stumped.
I've been reading through all the threads I can find on the topic, but it doesn't seem like there has been any finite solutions yet. Mostly 'it just went away' or 'I greased a sensor'.
Background:
I purchased the car (2004 Lancer ES 2.0L Auto) from a friend with a snapped timing belt. Before the belt snapped, the car ran great. I purchased a good used head off of an '05 Lancer ES 2.0. Installed new head gasket, head, timing belt kit, etc.
Troubleshooting:
Car starts up and runs great. The codes that I'm getting are a P0335 and P0340, and come on almost as soon as they are cleared, and they always appear together. However, with the cam sensor unplugged, just the cam code comes up and not the crank code.
Replaced the cam sensor and with a new unit and the car would not fire at all. Installed a new battery as well.
I verified timing was on, too.
I also verified via p/n that the cam trigger wheels are identical between both 2004 and 2005 2.0L motors.
In your experience, what could cause these two codes? I'm out of ideas.
Thanks
