I've seen this sort of beahvior caused by warped break rotors. If they are fairly new you can have them turned and see if that fixes it. It won't be an aligment issue though.

Ive had the same problem on my OZ. After a front end alignment and four new tires the problem was still there. So aI took it to a friend of mine at mitsubishi. He drove it around awhile and came to the conclusion that the front rotors were out of balance. He said this is not the first time this has been a problem in the lancer. Well to get to the point I sprung for the wildwood kit from rmr and haven't had a problem since. And damn does this thing stop now.
