to start this off i couldnt find a forum to post this in about problems with cars, so sorry if i did post in wrong place but my car has some tar like stuff leaking out from under the car, got some dried spots of it in my garage. It seems to think to be oil, it smears all over the place, anyone know what this could be?

 

Do you have a manual tranny or an automatic?

 

could be water from your air conditioner(ice melting)..but other than that..might be something you would have a mechanic look into

what you are seeing is the undercoat sealer that is put on the chassy so that nothing will rust. I have the same thing on my Lancer

 

that is sealer that is put on the under carrage to prevent rusting. I have the same thing on my lancer

 

When I installed my exhaust, I got that crap all over me

But does it drip or leak or something, seems to think and pastey to drip off the car and on to the driveway

 

Yea, I have little black dots all in my garage. Sometimes it even gets on the car itself and is like gum to get off

 

This would go in troubleshooting. Moving it now.

That coating on the bottom may melt because of extreme heat. Since you're in Valencia I'd imagine that's a VERY realistic possibility. Don't worry too much, but check under your car if you notice a lot coming off. You don't want a rusted underbody.

 

tell me about it... I had a big smudge on my forhead and in my hair. Pain to get off... I looked liked a dirty ole mechanic

 

thanks for the replies guys, it happened before i got my RRM exhaust so it hasnt happened for awhile, was just checking though, and does anyone know if you can get your side skirts repainted from mitsu because it seems to be chipping, or maybe parts that are scratched on your car from warranty?
