Oil in ECM (1860A843)

My 08 GTS was having a power draw issue (battery would slowly drain over a day or two if car not run). I took it to a local shop, they pulled the ECM (I thing it is also called PCM or ECU) and found oil in the connector. They tried to clean it and put it back but now the car shows miss fire and runs very rough, then they could not get it to start.. I looked into getting a new ECM but looks like they are over a $1000. Finding a used part is challenging plus it sounds like you need to get the ECM. BCM and Imobilizer from same car to get them to run. Right now I have asked the shop to fully charge the battery and see if it will run. I would then try to reset ECM as I found a process to turn on car (not run engine) for 2 min then turn off for 10 seconds, then start and run for a minute.

Any ideas? Anyone heard of oil in ECM. I found some articles on the internet about the oil sensor wicking oil into computer.

The oil is probably electrolyte from one of the capacitors blowing up inside the ECU. There are places that do board level repairs on ECU's that you could look into.
