hi i need to get a service manual or some help with my steering prob. The problem is that i can move my steering wheel left and right. and no i dont mean turning it. kinda like tilt but horizontal.. i took it apart and found these two little peices that seem to hold i there. i tightened them and it was fixed but as soon as i moved the tilt steering it got loose again. any help?

I has the exact same problem last year. I even crawled under the dash to try and tighten it up, then took it to the dealership. They tried to tighten it up too, then decided that the steering column was bad. They ordered the parts and replaced the entire steering column under warranty. It's a safety issue, so your local dealer should give no fuss about fixing it under warranty. And I know there's at least one documented case of such a defect (mine)

I'd still see if I can get that fixed. Isn't there a law somewhere about safety issues and cars? I know my Trans Am had the seatbelts replaced under recall when the car was 12 years old with 100,000 miles. It's at least worth a shot, because this isn't any easy job.
