The engine will have to be completley rebuilt, wrong compression.

The tranny does suck, it is worse than you think. I went through 2 of them before selling my NA Stealth. The stock clutch sucks, it will have to be upgraded. You will need a LSD without a doubt, the stealth has got to be one of worst oversteer cars I have ever driven. I think understeer...anyways you know what I mean!

Your probably will have to pull the motor to do the swap correctly. If I remeber right you can fit in a TT/AWD ECU with a few changes and that will handle most of your A/F control.

The point of the post wasnt to get everyones opinions on what I should do to modify it. It was to show everyone my new ride and tell everyone my intention. When I was shopping for the car I didnt care whether it was turbo or not as long as the mileage was good and the price was right. I had both in this one so I bought it. I am thankful of everyone opinion, but I am doing lots and lots of research on this and I know very well what the car is capable of. The modifications I do will be done with reliability in mind. I have also done the 420A turbo kit and also a 4G64 turbo kit on my 2000 Eclipse RS. Joe's EVO8...sorry you had a bad experience but what you experienced isnt the norm. There are quite a few people who have already done this swap without incident. I am not just pulling this out of the air and saying "I wanna turbo u-hyuck". There is lots of homework being done. The clutch is anticipated, air/fuel will be controlled by a HKS AFR and I am running stock 360 injectors from a VR4. If you did know me a little better than you all would know that I am not a 17 year old kid just buying crap and slapping it on and crossing my fingers. As I said before, I will post dyno results and drive my car every day at 10 to 1 compression and Twin Turbo charged.

I actully know you quite well from the RA forums. You are respectable person with lots of good input and I am more than sure that you are capable of doing this. I just don't trust the platform anymore. I would prefer to go back to a 1G DSM over a TT/AWD stealth. Parts are more abundant and less expensive.

Even though a 1G TT Dodge Stealth is still my dream car. The amazing part about having the EVO over that car is it probably more affordable. I would break something on the TT and then be in for a nice car payment and an easy $5000 bill for all the crap I would want to rebuild it. That would put me over my payment every month. Right now at this time in my life I don't need a project.

Isn't the NA FWD tranny the same internals as a FWD Turbo DSM? That may help your search. Now get it together and show us some dyno and track #'s!!!!! Good Luck.

I appreciate that last post a lot man thank you. As far as internals to the tranny go, I am sure they are similar, but they have to be a little different as the gear ratios arent exact and the motor is bigger...but I am sure that for all intents and purposes they are the same. But that isnt a bad thing as the DSM manual tranny was fine in the FWD form. The AWD's I have heard of with problems were in the T case and in the auto. I have also heard a LOT of stories about 1gen and 2gen Eclipse AUTO trannies. And remember...EVERYONE...this kit is going to be held at just 9-10 psi. NO MORE. All factory settings, just with SAFC and little things included. I cant wait to do it and I will let EVERYONE know how things go when it is installed and running. The turbos are in the mail and they are going on as soon as they get here. I WILL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED!

Then why post? To get random thumbs up and congrats? All we can do is post opinions and give advice, well that or flame . It's what we do here, Maybe you will hear an idea you'd like .

Remember, a Wise man needs no advice, but a fool refuses to take it.

Yea 10-1 is fine if you run like 7 PSI or less, he'll be fine.

Question, why the HKS unit? Any benefit over the SAFCII? I like the SFACII as it monitors knock, has 12 adjustment points, latest electronic gauge displays. Did HKS make a new unit?
