It's not the Diff in the TC that fails...Its the rack and pinion setup that transfers power. I wish it was the diff cause i would get the quaife...but that is only a diff...which goes inside the TC
Well I own a '97 Supra and am currently looking for a second car (Evo) as a daily driver. One thing the Supra is an awesome car but not as a daily driver if you want to 600 whp.
Currently I have 450 rwhp on stock turbos. I may end up upgrading to a single turbo soon and will be somewhere around 650 rwhp and yes the stock parts will not break they are made very strong.
If you like high hp then go for a supra but they don't come cheap especially the later models with low mile. Accept to pay $20K+ for high mileage to $35K for a newer low mileage car.
Goodluck.

What about a rebuild from Shephard Racing? They're apparently confident that they can keep it from breaking --- just as long as they can get their hands on new/replacement parts when they finally appear on the market.
**And what fluid were you using in the TC? Redline Heavy Anti-Shock? Mitsu OEM Diaqueen? Royal Purple? I want to know because I'M now on my second TC, and have the same keep/sell woes.

See what happens is that supra owners go for the drag setup and overpower the turns. But if you do the suspension setup that could equal out the power of the Supra, then you'll be alright.
Remember, RWD handles better than AWD. AWD handles better than FWD.
You just have to know how to drive each platform.

They're too heavy, that's the problem.
An E30 M3 with a 1/3 of the power can outhandle a Supra but would have trouble keeping up with an Evo on the track.

I am pretty sure it was OEM fluid...went in about 5k miles with minimal mods....also...the car had never been launched...never been to the track

And btw aren't M3 heavy cars as well....
?Even my Supra weighing 3500 lbs will take on a M3 any day... remember u can make anything handle on rails if you got the money.

Know your facts before making statements.

Do you even know what an E30 M3 is?
Unlike a Supra, or the later iterations of the M3, it is a true performance car worthy of it's ///M marquee.
If you don't know what it looks like, here's a pic:

It also weighs 2733 lbs, good luck with your porky Supra keeping up with one on the track
