It won't take 30 lbs like a 4G63 would, but a lightly boosted (6-7 PSI) turbo won't destroy the engine.

Our car will be getting the full dyno workout next week and I hope to have some numbers by Friday on the horsepower we can make with 6 psi. It should scoot with a little help from a Garrett GT28R!

Thanks for the kind words! We are working on a East Coast dealer at the moment to handle sales, install and tuning for the guys on the other side of the country. I will post up more details when we finalize everything next week.

What's this weird bulky think after the turbo in this pic?

I have never seen one of those before? Looks restrictive?

Anyways, 7PSi on a High compression motor like that could easilly yeild 100WHP extra, and much more torque. If done right, it would feel like a larger motor, all you need is a Tiny turbo, like a super 60 or somthing that would spool on teh Level of a T-25, maybe a T-28, that would be a PERFECT turbo.

But then you need a LSD, then a better clutch, then bigger wheels ot hold teh power, then better breaks to slow down.

My main concern is that you may upset the nature of the car by adding weight, is this the case here?

We have only added approx 45 pounds to the car with our turbo kit. With the GT28R pumping out 6-7 psi we should easily make our goal of an additional 70-80 horsepower and make this car a supercar. Our main objective is to flaten the torque down low before the cam crossover at 6200rpm below which the car is quite slow. The cat in the picture will be flanged and can be removed for track days if you so wish. We are already working on an Alcon brake kit, Ohlins suspension and a host of other goodies for this car including a 2.1 liter N/A stroker good for approx 250 horsepower and a 2.1 liter turbo stroker with a Garrett GT3071 turbo good for around 400 horsepower!

Holy crap! 400hp in a ~2k lb car? You're going to have to use crazy glue on those narrow tires to get it to hook up.

Very impressive work though!

Do you guys actually expect that open diff to hook up those extra horses when the boost comes on exiting a corner? I wish you luck with your mods but this is the finest balanced production car in the world, other manufactures go to Lotus to tune thier cars suspensions. I'm sure you can make it faster. But more fun to drive?

The use of a Quaife or Torsen L.S.D unit may indeed be required as we build towards a 400 horsepower Enzo fighter. However for our base kit that will make between 260-280 horsepower it will not be needed. As for making the car more "fun to drive" I can assure you it will be. I was very dissapointed in the car as delivered from Lotus, not in the way it steered, but the torque of the car. It needs to be driven in anger to make it perform like it looks. Our turbo kit will make it a more entertaining car to drive without the need to rev the engine to death to achieve good forward progress. If you have a chance to drive the car ZOOM DOOGIE I think you will agree with me that the car is underpowered below the 6200rpm switchover. To keep the weight purists happy we will be offering N/A packages that will subtract weight from the Elise while adding horsepower and torque.

I agree with your comments on the powercurve, I'm sure when tuned your turbo mods will be able to improve on that. I have not drove our US Elise but I have driven a MK 1 Elise on track. It is so well balanced,so much fun I think you have a mountain to climb to actually improve that balance and not impair it. From what I've read of the exige, Lotus has made it faster than the Elise but less entertaining to drive. I wish you success, if you do succede I'll be one of your happy customers.
