if it was anything outside of the usual Crown Vic's, Caprice's, Impala's, etc then no.. why should i stop for a potential threat? if this cat really wants me to stop he'll establish himself as an officer better... i had one try that in his GT mustang one time... waving his badge outside at me while we're driving down the road.. you don't actually think i'm going to stop so he can send another unit to ticket me do you? especially after i just got done racing him

No discredit to you sir, but I have to raise the Bull $hit flag on your white STi friend.

As an officer in the military, I can tell you, that beyond the shadow of a doubt, some MP would not be running around in a self procured vehicle. Moreover, they would not be pulling people over off of the base.

Another fact that makes this story doubtful is that if this is a Texas Ranger's car, why in God's name would it have Utah plates on it? Let's put 2 and 2 together on this one. It sounds like this guy is a con artist.

Oh yes, and just for everyone's information, you can buy that "Police Interceptor" badge and any Ford stealership. There were quite a few guys in the WRX community that were sporting them a few years back.

I spoke to my friend who is an MP in the army about this and this is what he told me.

MP's do not have any jurisdiction outside their military base. One exception to this would be if a civilian or military member was on a base, with a pass or other means, broke a law, and left the base. Then, the MP would pursuit them off base.

There are CID (criminal investigations division) troops though that do work off post. They typically dont pull over speeders or any other "minor" offenders because they're usually investigating rape, murder, or other big time crimes. Getting pulled over by CID would be equivilant to getting pulled over by the fbi.

My guess is that guy may have been an MP reservist or guardsman working P/T military. But was a cop within that city or a state trooper of some sorts for his regular civilian job.

My brother is an E-7 MP Army Reservist (previously active) in his late 30's who served in Iraq during the last war and I doubt he can pull people over, unless they're on a base.

Yea MPs don't have any power off base, that is why every time I leave base everybody drives like it's the indy 500 lol. I just coast out and let them go at it. I don't think I would pull over for an unmarked car either and really they can't charge you for resisting arrest or running from the cops or whatever because all you would have to do is state that you didn't feel comfortable pulling over for a suspicious car and there is no way a judge would convict you. They would radio a legit cop soon enough. I mean a judge should be able to reason with that logic. I doubt he would start trying to run you off the road before he radioed a legit car so it wouldn't turn into a high speed chase or anything. If some strange unmarked car was trying to run me off the road I would have to smoke his sorry ***. 165+mph is always fun

Sounds a little shady to me. Who knows what he is. Makes for a good story though.

I always thought cops were allowed to turn confiscated cars into police cruisers if the respective city/state decided not to auction them. Cops around me have a Corvette ZO6 police cruiser....now THAT is one fast cop car.

Finally somebody tells it how it is. This guy is full of crap. MPs in the military do not drive around off OR on-base in civilian cars pulling people over. BTW, nice "interceptor" sticker. Ask him what vinyl shop or online site he ordered that from. Only cops in fast and the furious drive around in fast imports. (as their police car)
