Will an evo head work in a 2nd gen gsx
Ok guys, me and my buddy were thinking this over... We were wondering if you can get an evo head to work on a 95 gsx? if not, what other good heads will fit... i.e. the 1st gen? evo 3? and what is nessesary to swap em?? thanks in advance

No it will not work. The evo motor is flipped 180 degrees. So even if you turned it the intake and exhaust side would be on the wrong end for the gsx and you would have the cam gears on the wrong side. Not even possible, sorry.

1st gen is a popular swap, evo 1-3 head will work as well, but are harder to find.
to swap to a 1g head, you'll also need a 1g intake manifold and 1g tb, and obviously a new headgasket, cam seals, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, tb gasket. it adds up...
what you'll gain is: a lumpy idle, more potential for leaks, less torque, worse gas milage, and the ability to run more boost from the turbo you don't have because of all the other supporting mods required.
IMHO, depending on your current mods, i'd be willing to bet your money could be spent better on other things. a 1g headswap isn't really necessary till your running a nice big snail.
people run 10s on the 2g head... don't waste your time/money just yet
post what you have done and I'll point ya in a better direction.
