800ft.lbs wheel torque

hey guys, this is my other car..
it's a 2004 CLK 500 supercharged.
the supercharging is done by a sub-division of lamborghini of beverly hills called keuylian motorcars. keuylian motorcars is now closed and the owner merged the showroom with lamborghini beverly hills as he owns both of them..

it's dynoed at about 400whp i forgot!
and i'm preety sure it was dynoed at 806.2 ft.lbs of torque
I'm surprised myself how can the torque be so high up compared to the whp..
well.. i dont know... but this thing is fast....

here are the mods:
Custom supercharger and water-cooled intercooler
K&N filter panel
Custom tuned
Eisenmann race exhaust
Hre Wheels
Brembo brakes
H&R suspension
ducktail & roof spoiler

Let me know what you guys think!

You wanna know why you got 800 ft lbs of torque? It's called the torque converter in your automatic tranny.

oh yea? does that mean that 800ft.lbs is higher than the car is making?
from what i know torque convertor is kind of the "clutch" for auto tranny..

Absolutely. Torque converters multiply the actual torque the car is making by 2 or even 3 times. I guess you can call the torque converter the clutch for the auto tranny. The auto tranny itself contains clutch packs, but it's quite different then your clutch disc.

The torque converter doesn't multiply the torque, that job is left to the gears in the tranny and rear-end. The TC, like you said, acts kind of like a clutch for autos, but instead of friction between two plates, it uses centrifugal motion the tranny fluid to transfer energy from the flex plate to the input shaft.

It honestly sounds like the dyno shop screwed something up. If they didn't put the right gear ratios into the computer, they could have gotten a weird reading for the torque and maintained more-or-less the same hp figures (well, not peak hp). The only other way I can think of making 400 and 800 ft-lbs of torque is if you made it all at about 1000rpms.

Oh, and another tid-bit to consider: the SL65/Cl65 cars put out ~600hp and 740ft-lbs of torque (at the crank). Those numbers (specifically, that ratio) are more typical of what a gasoline motor would put out.

I'm not doubting that your car kicks ***, so try not to take it the wrong way, but those numbers just sound a little funky.
