best car under 100k?

well im debating on selling my C6 soon and am considering possible options. has to be under 100k and PREFERABLY targa or convertible, (also considering a new Z06 which is only coupe form).

possible options:

SRT-10 viper : handling is crap, but gobs of torque
911 turbo targa : AWD, over 100 new, possibly used?
SL-55: also over 100 and still more used
lotus elise : cheapest and a track warrior (and decent mileage)

i thought about a supra but im not looking for an older car.

what do you guys think about the new porsche cayman?

any other obvious choices you guys suggest?

Cayman hands down......even Porsche-files are saying this is the car the 911 should have always been. If I had $100k I'd be getting one of those and using the leftover $$$ for motorcycles and big TV's

Since when does the Viper handle like crap? It's one of the best handling cars out there *if* you can drive it.

The Noble M-400 would be my choice.

Boxster S? Nearly all the performance of a 911, and a 'vert.

Noble is a good choice for a track car.

If this is clearly a numbers game of new cars with a warranty I don't see how anyone could not unanimously pick the C6 Z06? It clearly has the best numbers, track times, top speed, and it comes with a warranty too all for 75K fully loaded...not counting dealer mark up.

Throw on a 150 shot and you'll run 10's@130mph++ on pump gas all day.

I doubt you could drive the Atom on the road legally.

What are you looking for?....the elise is the polar opposite of the SL in terms of 2 seater coupes...

Is there something wrong with the vette...something that you would like to be better in your next car, or are you just looking for something different? I can't imagine getting bored with a brand new vette before the next model year is out...

I second Speedomodel - that has got to be the most bas azz car for the money.

Otherwise, I'd go speed/luxury combo and get an Audi RS6!

another evo you can't really beat a viper or a ZO6 as far as performance/handling/price/status goes. and before anyone tries to flame, just because most viper drivers have heavy feet doesn't mean that it wont handle like a BEAST if you're nice....look at the stats.

I'd probably buy a Porsche 997S if I was in the $90,000 price range.

I would take the Viper out of the Equation, they are not very practical and there are many cars that can step toe to toe with the Viper among them a Regular 05 EvO 8 with less than $5k on mods..

The porsche Turbo was never produced as targa configuration, only as Coupe or convertible, but never targa(I also know porsche from having myself a Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 4(AWD)Cabriolet)

The Mercedes is not as sporty as the other and the Elise is a great choice.

My list would go like this:

Porsche GT3 (380HP) they sell for $99000
Corvette C6 Z06, just wait, it will be worth
Porsche 998 Carrera S 3.8l (355HP)
Porsche 993 TT
Lotus Elise with the Turbo package that they are going to sell.

The Porsche Cayman is not a bad choice, it is a hybrid between the Boxter and the 998, just in between as far is power and handling..
