help me get a evo.

heres the deal....as some of you know i have a 2003 caddillac cts...bought it used but still under warranty about 3 months ago...to make a long story short, i hate it...2 weeks after i got the car i had one problem after another...door seals leaking...2 trans problems second time i took it in they finally just replaced the trans...then heres the main deal...the car had a pinstripe on it i didnt like so i had taken it off...the front part of it was easy to take off but then at the rear started to be a pain...the clear started peeling off with the pinstripe...i took the car to a friends bodyshop and he told me that he thought the car was in a accident by seeing the clear and what not...looks like they repaired the rear of the car and cleared over the rear pinstripe....so at this point im very stressed out...i had done a carfax on the car and it came back clean...well carfax has a policy to where if the car was in a accident and they dont have it reported they will actually buy the car back from you...now is it possible for my car to of been in accident without them knowing? also how can i find proof and if i can should i try and file a claim with carfax? second option...do you think there is any quick fix to kinda cover up this clear peeling off the rear so i can get the car in ok shape to just try and sell it on my own? thanks for any help....its appreciated.

Yes, it's possible that CarFax won't know about the accident if the previous owner paid for the fix and not report to his insurance.
You can use the rubbing compound after you have removed al lthe pinstripes, then clear coat it again.

I'm not sure what CarFax's time table is for getting their reports online, but I had an accident in my VW and it did NOT show up after 6-7 weeks. Could be there now, havent checked, but it seems like it would go in quicker than that. Insurance was involved, the whole shebang.

I would have the rear section and repainted then try to sell it on your own. If all else fails, try a trade in. There are also PLENTY of evos for sale on here modded and unmodded.

Minor damage isn't reported on a Carfax report. Example, if a shopping cart rolled into the back of the car and caused minor damage.

Have your friend from the body shop give you a estimate to fix the clear coat.

i had posted this same story twice but the thread title and subject wasnt regarding this problem...i made a thread on this problem so hopefully i could get some advice....regarding how many threads i have made about my cts? that would be one....also someone said this thread doesnt have to do with a evo...read the title..i wanna try and get rid of this car so i can get a evo...now back to the subject matter....i have negative equity for trading in my cts but when it comes to selling it i am seeing alot of the same cars going for 25-26k used and with more miles than mine...so imm thinking i can sell it on my own...only reason im skeptical of that is that the clear coat issue i have and to have it repainted and cleared will cost me 1k or over...and regarding if it was in a major accident or not thats why i came on here, i was trying to find out how i can go about finding out for sure so i have proof for carfax....
