I thought that was a given

Does anyone know about reliability?

It's the engine out of the celica, which I've heard actually DOES have some reliability issues. Can't be more specific for you at this point.

I was seriously considering the same thing about 4 months ago. I even went as far as selling off some of my mods and putting my car back to stock

There are a couple things that changed my mind.
1) I was planning on using it as my daily driver. I am used to extreme and am not too bothered by uncomfortable British cars. The thing is there is no easy way into the car with the top on. No matter how many times I tried getting in to the car; it was more of a graceful fall than anything else.
2) It is not practical for every day. It has to be parked on a flat surface if it rains otherwise you get water in the boot.
3) The present owners are really up their own buts when it comes to resale price. A reasonable price for a used Elise should be about 35K. They seem to think it is worth what they paid 2 years ago even when the dealers are now maintaining an inventory
4) I sobered up
5) I got on the list for a BMW M Z4 coupe

I should mention that I have put about 600 miles on one of these cars (see my sig). I really do like them however they are just not practical enough for a daily driver – that or I am just getting soft in my old age

I really appreciate your advise JTB, thats exactly what I needed to here. I was hoping I would get used to the "graceful fall" as you call it but, I guess its just somthing you'd have to live with.

The funny thing is that the evo will probably suck me dry next year with all the HPDE's, tires and misc. breakdowns.

I guess its true what Kant says, in order to be truly free, one must free one's self from one's passions. He was kind of dick though.

The new M Coupe may just be the coolest car under $50k (I hope it's under $50k). When is BMW releasing it?
