It's the whole front clip. Superwidebody fenders (adds 10 inches on both sides!) and a front bumper that makes your car look like a shark. Hardwired noen

ITR's are very well balanced and fun cars. They are great cars to road race b/c everything is cheap on them due to the numerous parts shared with other honda models. Not to mention the brakes and tires aren't that big so they are pretty cheap to replace as well. BTW, a stock ITR will get its *** burned at EVERY type of race to a stock Evo when it comes to power. Sorry, I have buddy w/ a type R, and when he was bone stock, he trapped 96~97mph running 14.3's.

well i had a ITR and ran 12.9's all day w/ 22" slicks w/ just:
Skunk2 Street cams
Skunk2 Cam Gears
Hondata Stg1
Edelbrock header w/ 2.5" collector

not bad for just a few mods........

No doubt that is good, but a big part of that is the slicks

The ITR has been rated the best FWD chassis on the market.

As far as the suspension. It could easily be replicated. It just wouldn't be worth it.

ok...so my buddy is just BSing. He's saying its a far greater car than the evo, etc...saying he'll whoop me bone stock on hwy(which i knew was impossbile for any honda to do so to an evo exception of an NSX). He's not saying 1/4 cuz he know the AWD VS FWD outcome. The way i look at it, an ITR is a legend as a Honda/Acura or whatever. But when it comes out to the real world against the big boys, it's not doing much.

Why do people rate the ITR so highly, I wold think the Civic type R is a better car?

I mean yes it is a good car but isnt the CTR much better? Is it like comparing a VR4 to an Evo, yes the VR4 is a great car, but the evo is a much better car becasue it is smaller.

I'd take an ITR. I saw one at an auto-x and it looked like a lot of fun. It would be a reliable, cheap car to enter. You wouldn't get the best times of the day, but I'm sure it would be a blast.

I'm assuming mostly due to the fact the ITR was commercially available in the US. Personally, I'd rather have a Prelude SiR. Much larger chassis, but more engine to haul around the weight.

All in all, the USDM ITR was a much more performance oriented car then anything else Honda had to offer at the time, not to mention the most affordable. At the time of it's US inception, we had the Prelude, the 2.2 and 3.0 CL's, the Del Sol VTEC, and the NSX. Yes, an NSX would be a lot more fun and a lot faster, but who has 25-97k to spend on one when a ITR can be had for as little as 12-15k? The CL only came in auto and the Del Sol sucked.

So all you have left are the Prelude SH and the ITR. At this point I'd honestly have to say it's the rarity that makes the ITR more coveted. And like I said above, I'd personally would much rather have a Prelude. Mostly due to a less likely chance of waking up and the car wouldn't be where I left it.

Based on opinion. The CTR lacks a lot of torque, but makes up for it with some extra HP on top end.
