I wouldn't buy either a used Evo or STi. Under most circumstances they've been dogged out. In fact, I'd never buy a used performance car, period.

Performance cars is one area where I'd take the hit for peace of mind.

 

well i wouldnt be scared of buying a used performance car the last two evos i bought modded to the max besides built blocks. Never had one problem with either besides normal wear and tear clutch pads and tires. Take it for a drive see how it is, idles how it sounds while driving etc. just little thing will determine whether you would want it or not. Good luck with whatever your choice is

 

I bought mine used unmodded. Then at 6k I tuned it to 23psi with the good old waste gate helper spring. I have 40k now and no problems. Who knows how the last guy treated it. I think 19 psi tuned by turbo trix on 91 is fine, but how many passes did he have at his 10 track days? I think 24k is about what you will find for a stock STI with 32k miles.

 

i see them ussually go for around 30-35k

 

any sti is a bad deal unless it's 500whp +
