I hate the celicas....mainly because I know nothing about them and I disapprove of their looks.....

But Toyota's supposedly resurrecting the Supra right?

And can anyone tell me if the Celica is a good car and why?

i just hope toyota can maybe be a bit playful and make the current mr2 spyders a bit more performance oriented. or hell just bring back the mkII mr2 turbo's the supra tt's are awesome, but a bit too heavy for some ppl i believe. plus it's front engined...it's pretty cool to have a ferrari look alike car with mid turbo'd engine + rear wheel drive + short wheel base + toyota reliability.

imho

toyota's boring now, but based on their history of sports cars (supra tt, mr2 turbo's, etc) they can be pretty crazy if they choose to be. i dunno, if i were toyota i'd think adding a line of sports cars will make my profit shoot to through the roof. they know how to build insane engines as well as good chassis for handling etc, but most of all their sports cars have toyota reliability, something other manufacturer's could only dream about imo.

i mean if i let u guys drive my car u'd be surprised it's 15 years old.
I agree, the Mr2 was a great car, especially the model year you're driving. That 91 mr2 was twitchy as hell but I loved it! Too bad, Toyota changed the Mr2's handling for the later years and especially for the last gen....

There were spy shot of a supposedly new wide body MR-2 or maybe a Lexus Sports Mid Engined Coupe or some kind of Evo vehicle that used an MR-2 Spyder as a test mule like a year ago when the MR-2 Spyder was cancelled. I wonder what became of it. It had a huge widebody kit covered in that anti-spy shot leather material.

yea the twitchiness is what i was referring to as "unique handling characteristics"

i agree they make the later model years a bit too boring IMO.

they need to bring the mid-size RWD sedans like the Chasers in Japan. RWD drift sedans are pimp-status

I know exactly what fusion chicken is saying, there are 4 mr2 turbos and three yes three twin turbo supras in our family tree and one lonely evo IX(mines ) and I know what crazy cars toyota can make, the mr2 turbo can be a beast with light mods, and the supra...we all know what potentials they have, i believe toyota is more focus on making money, but i wish they would offer a nice sport car like the supra once more.

I can't help but feel that both Toyota and Honda are waiting for some kind of achievement in F1 to bring out a new sports car. We keep seeing prototype versions of the supra and nsx's in various forms over the years and nothing seems to have come of it. At the momnent, it seems illogical for both companies specifically toyota to pump so much money into F1 and pretty much have nothing to show for it.

hahaha, the MR2's are great cars, they don't drive as old as they look, for some odd reason the supras seemed to just fit into any scene on the streets, but overall i prefer my evo IX, four doors with a bang.

This is the first year that Lexus has sold Lexus in japan. Before , they were all Toyotas.

Soo, we have actually been getting RWD toyotas, but the only midsizer was the GS

GS300/400- Aristo / RWD -- the version i wanted to see in the US was the Turbo Aristo
LS430- Celsior/ RWD
IS - Altezza/ RWD
ES- Windom ? Someone correct me / FWD
RX - Harrier
SC- Soarer- has cult status in Japan
LX/GX- Land Cruiser Variants
