yeah, but you can look on the bright side. Toyotas last for freaking ever. i had a toyota pickup and i TRIED and TRIED to destroy it just to help persuade my parents that i needed something newer.

needless to say, i drove that truck right up until i could afford my OWN replacement (6 years)

i do agree that toyota would do awesome for themselves if they got back in on the sporty side of things, but they ARE rolling in dough BECAUSE they went more family oriented. I dont know too many young people that spend the kind of money toyota gets from their "family cars". yes, there are some. but they all spend their money on Evo's. then the older guys who can afford that kind of stuff without batting an eye all want to drive a Z06 because they have to compensate for the size of their pimple. where does that leave toyota to get their money fix?

Well the new Camry is pretty nice, I actually really like and if I had to choose between a Camry V6, Accord V6, or Altima V6 I think I'd take the Camry. 268HP and 248TQ is pretty nice, should be a very quick Camry even though it's automatic, I still expect 1/4 mile times inbetween 14.5-15.0 Seconds, maybe even a little quicker. Also the IS350 is a very nice car, and very quick. I mean Toyota is getting better, I think Honda is starting to get a little boring.

I don't think they make more money just because they are family oriented. They make more because it costs them less to build each vehicle in man hours, it costs them less money in warranty claims because they build a better quality vehicle to start off with, and they have better looking cars. Because the warranty claims are low for their cars they have better resale which makes people want to buy a new one.
Most of the foreign manufacturers do not offer super low financing along with $5000 rebates to get people to purchase their cars because they don't have to.

The automatic has smooth shifts too. It's a 6-speed

What year 4Runner and with what size motor? 100k is still fairly fresh for a 'yota truck as long as it hasn't been abused. I've seen several 4Runners with over 150,000-200,000 and they still ran fine.

I love my 4Runner, it's an excellent vehicle.

at 100k miles its barely broken in stay away from the 95 and earlier 3.0 liter v6 because they blow head gaskets. stick with the 3.4 liter if you need to tow and like some power, otherwise the 22re 4 bangers are built like tanks. have fun with a yota!

since we are sharing pictures, my rig sorry for the bad quality, it was taken with my camera phone.

I was considering this one. It looks pretty clean to me. 4Runners are ! They are rugged, refined, and have good off-road abilities. I really like the current one out though.. Toyota should bring the Hilux here...My mom has a Montero, but I dont wanna get that polished machine dirty.

Ps: jdub24, i love your dual exhaust

Hey thanks. Those Borlas make it sound like a truck now. I've since taken off the "toyota" badge and the "4runner" badge. It's looking nice and clean.

Lawin, I love to see off-road pics!

Here's another pic:

That's funny. My wife calls it my army truck too.....Oh well. I think it looks tough. Those wheels are Teflon. Awesome stuff, crap, mud, brake dust, whatever, all that stuff rubs right off.

Exactly. Back to the original point of this thread - For pure speed, Toyota may be currently boring. But get in any Toyota 4x4 and take it off road, I don't know how anyone could call that boring! It gets more fun when you make it more off-road capable than stock....

What model is that? I can't see a hood scoop so it might not be a Sport Edition.. Is it an SR5? Lucky man, you have DAC and UAC...
