Anybody else thinks Toyota is boring?

Well it just seems like mosy of Toyota's vehicles have good build quality, reliability, quiet, but they just seem bland and well boring It just seems like they have gone soft and they have turned into a family-oriented automaker. How could an automaker who made such beasts as the Supra and the turbo Celica, make such cars that when you drive them, it's monotonous.. Well I gotta admit though, the tC can be tuned to make good 1/4 mile times and the new V6 Rav4 with 268 hp can accelarate to 60 in 6.3s.

I heard that they will resurrect a new Celica because the nameplate is worth gold. Aside from that, the only car that I like in the lineup is the Camry SE V6 - you sould see it on thier wevsite, it looks like a Lexus. But then again, they will get mad common very soon

I agree with you,but toyota is right now profit oriented.

I hope they will produce faster cars in the future.

I agree 1 billion %!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's why I have no interest in Toyota cars anymore. I think their Scion brand is just a cover up for econo cars but you can "trick em out" big whoop.

I like most of their cars & you have to include Lexus when you say Toyota, but #1 selling automaking company in the US.

Toyota is what every other car maker wishes they can be. sure, all their cars are about exciting as riding the bus but they make GREAT cars, they have great service and THEY ARE MAKING MONEY. every single division of that company is doing very well and you know what, LEXUS is toyota and they do have some nice cars (is250 and the new GS series).

+1

Toyota is a great company with an excellent product.

Once they bring the Supra back, they will have all markets covered.

i like how toyota is doing things from a business standpoint, and the vehicles they make are so much better than the crap GM turns out for a heavy loss. and to all those idiots who say it's because costs here are too high - tell my how toyota can be so profitable while opening MORE factories in the US?

honestly though, i still prefer honda. they have a bit more excitement in their entire lineup, and still make excellent products for a profit.

as far as the celica is concerned, i highly doubt it will be back. they have the scion now, so i'd just expect them to continue to develope that line-up. all they need now is the supra badged as a toyota and they'll be sitting pretty.

oh, and before i forget - DIE GM! DIE!!!!!!!!!!!! (just leave the corvette)

also, i think that it is amazing that almost all the top business schools in the US uses TOYOTA as model for good business. i think that we have talked about them in at least 5 of my classes..

something to consider.

I went to school for Industrial Engineering and one of the main examples that my teachers used in real world environments was Toyota. Toyota can manufacture cars faster than any other manufacturer, can make new models faster (drawing board to dealerships), is more profitable per car than most companies, and is focused on quality and not making the same mistake twice (error proofing). The manufacturing theory is called the Toyota Production System, but many companies around the world have taken their method and rebadged it Lean Manufacturing. It is pretty much the idea of constant improvement and eliminating waste. A very ideal company to watch out for and replicate.
