I got a question about the painless wiring kit. like how different is it from a normal wiring system. and is it really easy and painless to wire? lol I think i can see it gets rid of the fuse box in the engine bay right? and puts it under the dash for hiding of course im not a genious on wiring so sorry for the noob questions. just looking to do a project in the summer myself and want it too look as clean as yours...lol which is amazing

Awesome project!

I know nothing abotu building cars, but to solve the fuel rail prob, can you turn the engine a lil bit anti-clockwise (looking on from the front)?

Why don't you just flip the rail over? If it fits and clears, you can weld the tabs on so it bolts up.

I saw a similar car for sale on ebay with pretty much all the same work but a minimal roll cage and no interior and the owner quoted mid 12s in the 1/4 mile on slicks. The car was prepped for autocross too.

My 89 full interior 240sx sr20 ran 13.6 without slicks and a lsd, so I think this thing will definitly be a 12s car.

I think you have a couple of options. The easiest is a cowl induction style hood. The hardest is lowering the engine and transmission down. You'll need to modify the motor and transmission mounts. The bright side to the harder option is, this will lower your center of gravity and improve your handling.

I suppose you can do solid mounts and drop the engine an inch or two.. I had something similar happen when I mocked up my engine in my Malibu, it sat way too high, I used a combination of different motor mounts until I found a combination that dropped the engine enough to clear the hood. Obviously this was on a v8 chevy and I had quite a few options.

***UPDATE***

Just tidying up the remaining wiring, fitting the dash pieces, making the seat brackets fit to my stock ones, I had to machine and tap a hub adapter for my wheel its 1/2 MOMO 1/2 My own creation. The momo stuck out wayyyyyyy too far so I cut it down. All the sound dampening is done and now its time for insulation. Still decing ond a fuel system I am probably going ot go with side feed but O well. the pics;

Insulation;

Seat fitted;.. seat #2 next.....

steering wheel on, you can see the custom double din housing I fabbed up, also the air vents and custom recessed DEFI tachometer

wheel off muahha best anti theft device imo;

and to conclude a rare little jem known as the Veilside titanium teardrop muffler. WOOT
hook a brother up!

Thanks for lookin! -stew
