Audi a3 vs VW gti vs etc... Which one?
Here is the criteria the vehicle should meet:
- somewhat entertaining
- auto the lady is tired of driving manual...
- 4-door
- somewhat spacious
- decent gas mileage
- Less then 32k.
Some cars I found interesting are the audi a3 and vw gti (4door). Both has auto option and a real nice auto i might add. Car would probably be a daily driver for her and i'd drive it every once in a while depending how fun it is . Also a family car. I choose these 2 because of the dsg and you can flash/chip them for like $300-600 for like +50hp and +90tq
a3 is a nice car and its somewhat luxurious. it's way more expensive then a nicely equipped gti though... a3 w/ navi, sunroof, etc is in the 30+k range while the gti is like 27k. I thought of the 4dr si but no auto option but it's the cheapest and pretty nice.
I'd like to know what you all think and what other cars should be considered. No time to check them out myself because my car needs fixing first.

300c Touring or the RWD... Super nice, extremely comfortable, and supppppper roomie...Drove one from LA to Chicago and back....great trip and the luxury and comfort of that car made it that much better. Check out www.carmax.com for them...they sell them somewhat cheap.
G35 Sedan is also another choice though I've never been in one or driven one.

Either/or, they're both good cars, just depends on how many doors you want. The A3 is available in quattro, but only with the 3.2 v6. Also, the DSG is a great transmission, sport mode is very good, plus you can shift with the paddles. The only big problem is neither car w/ DSG has launch control. VAG said they would have it, but for some stupid reason didn't include it for the US market.

evotec: why?
HaVoK23: thanks for the suggestions but a 300c is highly unlikely as is the g35 her mom wants one and her and her mom are weird?
Czubaka: i thought the 07's come with launch control now.
edison: thanks thats what i wanted to hear.
9t1tsi: i think the tl is a bit more then our range. I only wanted to spend mid 20's but whatever.

Subaru Legacy GT- appr. $29,000-$30,000
Cobb AccessPORT (Stage 2)- appr. $645
TBE- $800-$900
CAI- $250
Just as fast or slightly faster than a stock Evo or STi/STI- Priceless

hmmm i never thought of used cars actually. I like the is300 but like the is350/500 better . No to the wrx imo they are fugly and we already got the evo.
the legacy is a good one but for some reason she said no to subaru? maybe i can convince her like i did with the audi. The legacy doesnt have as nice of a tranny but is awd tough decision. Also once you equip it with auto and gps its around 33k.
