What BMW do u think could outrun an sti (STOCK VS STOCK) through a canyon/mountain run with lots of twists and turns.

I was arguing wit someone and i believe no bmw can do so besides maybe the Z series

E30 M3, just depends on the amount of curves and lack of straights...

There are others, I just listed my favorite...

I've driven evos and just about every model BMW but never driven an STI. If the STI is similar in handling to the evo, I dont think any BMW will stand a chance if its not a straight line.

oh sorry, this includes against evos as well, but mostly applies to the sti. Note: this is with MOSTLY twists and curves, hardddd turns (almost hair pins), through gravel (stock vs stock with similar drivers). Very Very few straights

There is a video floating around with an Modena vs. M3 Vs. Evo on Tskuba circuit. I think that will answer your question.

Gravel? Your kidding, right? Is this real life or Gran Turismo? I dont know too many intelligent people willing to race $30,000+ cars on a winding gravel road....

How old are you?

older than ur dad...how do u assume im gonna do this? huh? Does it say i drive an evo or an sti? it says I DRIVE MY DOG'S DOG, ok? I'm not a professional driver i would never do this. So im guessin those unintellegent rally drivers are pretty retarded right. Or its pretty retarded people will take $800,000 supercars over 200mph

the e36 m3 or any lighter BMW with its 50/50 f/r weight distribution and rwd should do pretty well, given a good driver behind the wheels. maybe the z3m? how much do those weigh?

Um..what?

Thanks for that, we now know you might not even be old enough to drive...

Rally car, professional driver? I thought we were refering to stock Sti's and BMWs on a public road with everyday owners driving, but hey man its your thread, rip it up.

A E36 M3 WILL not outperform a well driven STI! A E46 M3 may, it would have to be a very good driver though. The new M coupe may outperform an STI or Evo, again without good drivers it's a moot point.

just amazed why people ask these kinda question.. BMW vs STI on blah blah blah road....

There's so much variables, unless using a same driver for both cars, running time attack...hmmmm...that would be hard to...will be unfair for the first car to go first. Any input????ahahah

downhill or uphill?

And it's kind of hard to compare to STIs simply because those car came *fixed* up stock.
any Z series and M series would have no problem keeping up with the STI. It's all about the power/wight ratio of the car, especially racing downhill
