hmmm ok well it looks like low 13's. theres one i found and from the little bit i read it had a reflashed ecu and and did like a 12.2 anyway heres the link.

EVOemJEN, you don't need to go to vishnu whatever to prove this. We know what the Evo can and can't do.

I ran 12.2 with a cat-back, safc, MBC - no big deal.

 

ok can you tell me knows car that is because i highly douth it was bone stock because ive been in that car and there is noo way that car will run 13. Ive seen stock 350z smoke them allll day and i douth thats as fast as a lexus IS350 because the IS takes a Z and Z runs mid 14z

 

350z are that slow? an Eclipse GT can run mid-high 14's...so i would think a Mazdaspeed 3 would at least run low 14.

Sure about that? I drove a friends 2003 sorta stock 350z (k/n + catback) to a 14.2 @ 101. Another 350z was there too, dont know year, but he was in the mid-high 14s.

 

you traded your Evo in, now youre here telling us how much better a value your MP3 is. Get Real! Time to go to your lil mazda forum and bug them.

 

The nice thing about the Mazda is you can beat on that transmission all day long and it won't break.

It's not that 350z's are slow - they just have no traction. They don't trap much below a stock Evo, but they lose about half a second due to lack of traction, so they appear slow. Plus, most owners suck at driving, and launching FWD is difficult on street tires, so you end up with a lot of 14-sec 350Z's. To be fair, I've seen my fair share of STIs and Evos run 14s, too, so you can't base the car's ability of crappy drivers. A stock Eclipse GT has a lot of power, too, so it can hit 14s, but it's also limited by both traction and weight.

This MS3 or whatever may hit an extremely high 13s on a full moon in Australia, but it's not a 13-sec car.

 

Who cares...

 

IS350's run 13.6 if you just put your foot down when the light turns green.

And Z's run 13.9 as often as VIII's run 12.9 ; We all know what they ACTUALLY run.

Moving on, i don't understand why the guy who started this thread went from a 330 whp IX to a stock MS3? Odviously couldn't take the payments, as somebody else said.

All that being said, no matter how much pride we all have; that trap shows strong power, VERY comparable to a stock VIII...

FWIW, if you know someone w/ a IS350 runing 14's, slap them. The car runs 13.6-13.7's all day long. Ive got time slips to prove it, bone stock, other than debadging and tint
