There is absolutly no way I would trade my EVO for the Shelby GT500. Honestly, I don't know how Caroll Shelby put his stamp of approval on this overwhieght so called "all new designed" Mustang.
Now, if Ford would have actually built an all new Mustang like the concept portrayed - I would have bought one in a heartbeat. Here are a few shots of what the Mustang should have been:

Here are a few of the interior, I think the dash kicks ***:

....and the engine:

IMHO the new Mustang is just a 04' with a different front and rear end. The interior is straight from the previous year with a mockery of the concepts cool dashboard. The concept was a totally new mustang chassis, body, and interior.
I'm not going to go into all the details but you can read about them here http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/News/pics05c/.

The Shelby is a beautiful car but it's not something I would want to drive in the snow, the EVO is.

Is this car faster than the Evo IX? I know it's way faster but heavier too > 4040 lbs.

What do you guys think?

And have you guys ever race a previous generation Shelby before? If so how did you fare against it?
No way in Hell (I don't own an Evo). I wouldn't give up my STi for one either. Mustangs are just too heavy these days. The only Ford I would ditch my STi for would be a Ford GT.

by Z06 i assume you all mean a c6, that ls7 is a beast. i was out about 3 weeks ago in the evo on a realitively cool night, and tried out a trailblazer SS, w/ 4WD, he had some head work done, cams, and a 100 shot. guys, i gotta be honest, be weary of those things. he got me by whole car to a half. some where around there and the best time i laid down was a 12.46. those ls2's are no joke either, even in a SUV. closed road, of course!! but i did run at 119, unofficially, which is definitely higher than my best on the track. i would still take a C6. pop a 150 shot on it and some head work. whammy definitely 10's, imo
