Buy a used Civic and put the rest away in the bank. You're only 18 you don't need an Evo, you need a daily driver.

What's with all the FWD cars? Civics, Cobalts, Neons, and 3s..

How about a nice low mileage RX8. You get 200+ HP, with a 50/50 weight balance, 6-speed manual, hi-reving (redline 9.5K) RWD car. It's not super fast but it has awesome handeling which makes up for it.

Bonus - the insurance isn't too high either.

Just my 2 cents. Hondas are nice cars but no where near as fun as a Mazda (I've owned several of both).

Used hover a little over 20k.

But then again, they get horrible gas mileage.

A search on autotrader.com for all manual RX-8s, for under $20K with less than 15K miles returns 55 results.

You should be able to find one for around $17K with low miles or even cheaper with a few more miles on it.

It seats more than just two people... mind you it's a bit tight but not too bad for a short trip. It's at least worth a test drive.

As for gas mileage... yeah.. 17 MPG is about what you should expect for daily around town (I used to own one). THAT's the only downside (as far as I'm concerned).

I know the gti isn't awd but it may rock pretty good in its class.

I've went from 03evo(mild mods), 04vwr32(mild mods), to present 07gti.

p.m. any questions.

get a motorcycle, you'll be faster than an evo =P
but dont get one becuase it's dangerous.

you can get a:
srt4
wrx
2.5rs
rsx type s (if lucky)
mazda3
s2000 (if you add a few more thousand)
RX-7
240sx
evo 8 (if you add a few more thousand)

new civic SI's are expensive (i have 2 friends who's black fully loaded ones passed 30k...ouch)

it all depends on what you're going to use the car for.
