I would definitely get one as my weekend/track car. Rip out the Celica motor and plop in a K20A2 with a comptech supercharger pushing 11psi.

i have an 06 exige... and i did a few driver's schools for lotus through their atlanta dealer.

the cars are phenomonal...

we also have a 2.3 evo mr, and i had an evo ix...

The evo is a much more practical car... but nothing provides you with the feeling that you are connected to the road like a lotus.

we are trying to acquire another one shortly to build a time attack car from.

400whp and 2100lbs could be fun

I love the Elise, it's just too damn small. I love the S2000, it's also too damn small. I even like the Mazda Mx-5, it's too damn small. I'm 6'2'' 225lbs. I love the G35 coupe, it's too small and really cramped. The Evo is the best, I would never trade for a Lotus, I would love it for a second car if I could fit in it. In the Evo I don't have to worry about raised F-150's running me over. The driver wouldn't even know he squashed you in the Lotus if he had the radio turned up.

no way, i'd get a supra or vette before i got a lotus... least practical cars ever... plus my first ever experience with a lotus involved me drilling my head on the roof, rather unpleasant

i wouldn't choose the elise over the evo even if i could fit in one lol. that being said the elise is a pretty comparable car to the evo and is also at a bargain price.

Elise/Exige would be a dream come true for me, however it's NOT by any means a daily driver.

Part of the reason I sprung for the Evo was because I could use it year round... the Lotus is a light, uncomfortable, RWD beast... but I would DEFINATELY own one as a fair weather car.

No offense, and this is going to sound gay...but I would throw both evo and elise into the classifieds and look into a noble M400... looks better than both of them IMO
