evo + vette...my dream and goal

to add: the Evo is a rally car...the fact that it's being compared to the Vette on dry roads is a nice compliment...

the Vette is the ULTIMATE bang for the buck vehicle IMO. it's the car to get if u want to own exotics in the performance arena without spending body parts.

About time someone spoke the truth. Vette = sunny day car. Evo = fun in ****ty weather. Both are great cars in there own, but very different. AWD. Turbo-four four door. VS RWD V8 two door sports car. I love the evo and the vette, because they are the two best $ performance cars on the market

one thing i love the Evo over the vette on dry roads is how AWD is capable of utilizing big power efficiently on the street...on street tires with 400whp+ a rwd will need super huge rear tires, or even DR's to have traction in the lower gears, whereas the Evo....

This is very true.. but at the same time you have to realize this. Launching your evo = abusing your evo. They car was simply not meant to withstand that sort of abuse in his FRD biasis AWD layout.. very much unlike that found on the one found on the 911 turbo and skyline. I had only launched my evo a few times ever.. fear of breaking things with only 350whp is very realistic compared to being able to launch all day in rwd cars and not worry about it. Can there really be any car that can street race from a dig like the evo can? not really.. but then your going to pay the price to play dirty like that. The lower gears on the evo are still really fun though, and you dont need to launch the car to take advantage of the AWD advantage. The major overlooked part here is that the Sti and evo both have insanely lower gearing( much like the M3).. that means alot and is a big part of the reason these cars can run 11s in the 1/4 without much work.

Traction is definately an issue with the standar c6 as the tires are only 285s compared to the 295s found on the c5z.. If you opt to upgrade to the c6z fenders you can fit 355s on the car with no issues!
