The standard Boxster is slow. 0-60 mph in the 7s isn't anything to write home about. I murdered those cars from a dig or a roll with my 02 RSX Type S with bolt ons. The Boxster S is a different story. I murdered those when I slapped my supercharger on at 7psi. Either Boxster wouldn't stand a chance mod for mod or stock to stock.

Yeah, stock for stock you will tear a reg. boxter a new one. A boxter s on a roll will be right next to you stock for stock, top end will pull on you. I have basic bolt ons on my 05 VIII not even fully tuned yet, and from a roll i pull about half a car on the new cayman s. From a dig they dont stand a chance.

The Boxster S is geared for the highway. You will have a tough time beating one up top.

haha, I've been agaist a highly modded 944, a slightly modded 928, a boxter, and a stock 911... the only one that gave me a run was the 911... and my evo ix is stock.

+1 on going from Porsche 911 to Evo. Before that, I went from 02 Boxster to 99 Carrera. From a dig, no doubt the Evo kills std. Boxster. It is also slightly faster from a dig than my 99 C2 was. From a roll I still put my money on the Evo vs Boxster, but not necessarily against the older 911. Raced a guy in a newer Sti (I know, apples to oranges on Evo forum) in the 911 from a roll, and pulled him about 1.5 lengths. FWIW.

The Boxster S is still one of the best roadsters on the market. Sometimes it's not all about straight line speed.

That may be true but the question was not which car is is better overall but would an evo beat a boxter. I've driven my share of boxers and they are smooth , tight and the interior makes you feel like a rich man but they would not beat an evo. As much as I love porsches my biggest pet peeve is the key ignition is on the left of the steering wheel column.
