evo ix clutch problems HELP!
evo ix clutch problems HELP!
My buddy was driving his evo ix last night and as he was exiting the freeway he attempted to put his tranny into neutral and once he did that his clutch pedal went in all the way easily without any pressure became stuck to the floor, he then pulled over to pull out the clutch using his hands. After that we were unable to push it in again. Its stuck and stiff as hell
and now we cant drive the car. Any ideas whats wrong with it?

sounds about right. You will have to pull the tranny and replace that wave collar if that's the case. Pull the inspection holes both top and bottom and shine a light in there to see. If this is the culprit, then invest in a clutch-fork stop ($50) and it will save the headache next time around - unless he uses this opportunity to change to a push-style clutch
Id say check the slave and master cylinder first before pulling the trans, make sure that nothings leaking and that there is a proper amount of fluid in the reservoir. The clutch pedal will stay down at the floor if there isnt enough fluid in the system.
